Would you like to become a firefighter?

Serving as a retained firefighter requires dedication and strong commitment to the welfare of your community.

To become a firefighter you need to be:

- In good health and to have good eyesight

- Must live & work within a reasonable distance of the Fire Station where you wish to serve

- As part of the interview process, verbal & written skills will be tested as will physical ability to ascend ladders and to work in confined spaces

- A medical examination is required before appointment

Vacancies when they arise are advertised in local press, on the Kilkenny County County Website, and on the national website for vacancies in local authorities, local government jobs.
